2016 The Big Dipper in Santa Cruz, California

The 2016 Heidelberg – San Francisco Exchange included a trip to Santa Cruz.  They enjoyed hanging at the beach as well as riding the World Renown Big Dipper Roller Coaster.  It is a historic wooden roller coaster located at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It was built by Arthur Looff in 1924, took 47 days to build at a cost of $50,000.

The classic wooden coaster can be seen in several movies including “Sudden Impact,”  “Sting II,” “The Lost Boys,” and “Dangerous Minds.”
